Some people take their fear of things that could never happen WAY seriously. A zombie apocalypse, for example. It’s impossible. It will never happen. But that doesn’t stop some people from preparing for it, anyway. Peruse this collection of houses created specifically to repel zombie attacks. Some are rather ingenious, if going to all that trouble to prepare for something that will never occur can be called “ingenious.” Then again, what will keep zombies out will probably keep out hordes of slavering, pillaging, but LIVING attackers, too, so your zombie-proof house would serve double duty in the event of a 28 DAYS LATER-type viral pandemic or if they ever choose to reenact THE PURGE in real life.
Some of these designs are flawed, though. The tower, constructed because “zombies can’t climb?” Puh-leeze. Sure they can, depending on the kind of zombie you’re dealing with. The houseboat or the house on an island might work, as zombies can’t swim or navigate watercraft. I like the Robert Neville, I AM LEGEND-esque armored house, but the underground bunker makes me feel claustrophobic just looking at it. The cutest, though, and my favorite, is the “pod” house. Not sure how it’s supposed to work, but it’s adorable. How about you? Which is your pick?
