Let me state right from the get-go that there is nothing scientific about the following article. I don’t employ algorithms or polls that give an actual reflection of facts, the way those political polls are supposed to. (I still don’t understand how that works. You question a small number of voters and are somehow able to correctly predict the results of an election. Doesn’t make sense to me, but it does seem to work much of the time, although sometimes they can go all screwy.) I’m basing this non-scientific study on conversations I’ve had with friends and comments I’ve seen posted by them online. I sampled only hardcore TWD fans, not the casual viewers or those who weren’t interested to begin with, in order to be as accurate in my non-scientific survey as possible.
The results are this, that a lot of Walker-lovers are not happy. “I’m sick and tired of being teased with no payoff!” one of my buddies complained. “An exercise in pure frustration!” another bemoaned. And the worst of the lot, “I’m finished with this $#%&*!! show!” Maintaining tension is a good thing with a show like this, but has TWD stretched it out too far? Has it achieved fan burnout? What do you all think?
