The smash hit AMC series returns from its winter hiatus on February 14th. I love the irony of the date; although the timing is probably purely arbitrary, any time anything Horror-related undermines or lampoons that manufactured “holiday” it’s guaranteed to put a smile on my face. Zombies on Valentine’s Day is a perfect combination, as far as I’m concerned. (It also kinda sounds like the title of an Alternative Rock band.) If you’re having a hard time waiting for new TWD action, you can watch (or probably re-watch) the trailer for the midseason premiere at the link below. If you keep watching it over and over it should hold you for the next month-and-a-half.
Do I cover THE WALKING DEAD too often on this site, do you think? I always strive for variety. Still, no one can deny that TWD is the biggest thing going on right now in the world of zombies, and its popularity shows no signs of ebbing anytime soon. Zombies in general have become a true pop culture phenomenon, and TWD serves as vanguard for the shambling, rotting horde. As I see it, I’m just feeding the demand. Zombies need brains, and zombie fans need THE WALKING DEAD. Right?
