This past weekend, my compatriots at Legless Corpse Films held their second ever film festival, the LEGLESS CORPSE HALLOWEEN HORROR FILM FESTIVAL, at the Princess Theater in Decatur, Alabama. I was able to drive in for the event, and my special status with the company got me free access to the films and the special guests. (I am a movie reviewer for Legless Corpse when I’m not pimping zombies, vampires, werewolves, etc. at this and our sister sites, vampires.com, werewolves.com, topcomics.com, and darkness.com.) Among those guests was makeup technician Tara Galloway Merryman, who hails from Birmingham, Alabama and was present to conduct a zombie makeup demonstration. Her work was on display later that night when the event staged a “zombie walk.”
The young lady in the picture is Delaney Emmons. (Yes, I got permission from her mom before posting her picture.) The process of turning Amber into one of the walking dead took about three hours, but, Tara informed me, she was taking her time with it, in no hurry. I’d say the final results were pretty impressive, wouldn’t you?
Also present was fellow artist Mayela Serrano, a New York native who also lives in Birmingham and is a frequent collaborator of Tara’s. Check out this lovely zombie bite mark Mayela created. You’ll be able to see more of these ladies’ work in the upcoming Horror flick DEIMOSIMINE!
