People are stupid. That’s just a sad fact. Not ALL people, although anyone is capable, regardless of his or her intelligence quotient, of being stupid at a particular point, or at least capable of doing something stupid. I myself like to flatter myself that I am fairly intelligent, but oftentimes I lament my tendency towards doing stupid stuff. I think I may be an “idiot savant,” ala Charlie in RAIN MAN. A genius in some ways and a complete idiot in others. (Note: No insult to anyone who has authentically been diagnosed as an idiot savant. In fact I don’t believe they even use that term anymore. I will christen myself, then, the last of the idiot savants, although I never much got into The People’s Court—Hey, come on. SOME of you got that joke, right?) There are far too many examples, though, of people who are stupid ALL the time. They aren’t only guilty of momentary stupidity, or of taking a stupid action, they are get-out-of-bed, walkin’-down-the-street, all-day stupid. These are the kinds of people actor Josh McDermitt has had to deal with.
Mr. McDermitt, who as you all know plays Eugene on THE WALKING DEAD, had to delete his social media accounts because he was getting death threats and harassment from morons. The morons were angry at him because of what his character did on the TV series. Yes, there are people out there who are so dense they can’t differentiate between real life and television. Talk about zombies.
